Where in the World is Dr. Fu?
This is a really good question! Have YOU seen her? The sightings have been rare in the good berg of Leavenworth, for her other hat of "professor" now sits on her noggin most days until June, not a whole lot of time for social media of any kind, so here she is writing a blog post letting you know that she still exists. (What a horrible sentence, writer.) Until Avra Kedavra Kamp arrives in July, this is probably the first and last post of this year. See you at Kamp.Until then, let me leave you with some wisdom:
Brian Andreas' "Illusion of Control" captures life perfectly.
January 19th, 2019
newThank you, A Book for All Seasons, Leavenworth, WA, for hosting me today at a signing of my middle grade novel, Brother Beast. The best moment of the day - when a mittened pod of kids trundled in from the cold, saw my many green name tags of 'author,' (one stuck to my chest, one to my leg, and one to my arm) ,and hollered, "You're an author? You wrote that book?" I drew them in further, pointing to the bat skeleton on the cover, and asked, "Do you know what that is?" We chatted. One guy, the kid with the purple stocking cap, managed to convince his parents that he just had to read this book. His chubby-cheeked friend didn't fare so well in the convincing department, so instead of getting a book, he asked for my signature on his new spiral pad. He smiled and said, "I'm writing a book."
The History and Meaning of Dr. Fu
Dr. Fu has uncovered a rather surprising bit of information that gave her duck bumps, a.k.a. goose pimples.
